A Medical Journey Begins
Nicole Psomas started her career in 2004 as a Physical Therapist at New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center, specializing in trauma and reconstructive plastic surgery. In 2009, she transitioned to working with cosmetic surgery patients, trailblazing as a pioneer in this field.
From Personal Experience to Professional Expertise
Nicole’s inspiration to enter the cosmetic surgery field came from her own experience with laser liposuction. Realizing there was a lack of information on proper recovery, she decided to fill that gap. This personal journey motivated her to develop techniques that would help others recover safely and effectively.
Bridging Gaps in Cosmetic Surgery Recovery
Nicole noticed a troubling trend: many unqualified individuals claiming to be experts in plastic surgery recovery, spreading misinformation and performing unsafe techniques. Her mission is to bridge this gap by providing accurate, safe, and effective recovery methods.
Unique Qualifications and Methods
What sets Nicole apart is her extensive background as a physical therapist, her training at one of the top hospitals in the world, and her years of experience treating thousands of cosmetic surgery patients alongside some of the best plastic surgeons. She has developed and trademarked unique methods to speed up patients’ results and ensure a safe recovery.
Choosing Projects with Purpose
After years of working with patients, Nicole saw the need for the masses to receive accurate recovery information. This led her to write a book, the first ever published on how to prepare for and recover from cosmetic plastic surgery. Her projects are driven by the desire to fill this critical information gap.
Motivated by a Desire to Help
Nicole’s motivation comes from her desire to help people and the need to educate them. She is committed to fighting against the misinformation that patients and aspiring therapists receive in this field. Her work is rooted in making a positive impact on people’s lives.
Defining Success in Patient Recovery
For Nicole, success means happy patients who have recovered beautifully after surgery. Her definition of success is tied to the well-being and satisfaction of her patients, ensuring they have the best possible recovery experience.
Proud Milestones and Achievements
One of Nicole’s proudest milestones came in 2022 when she launched a national course through the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy. This course trains physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, massage therapists, nurses, and doctors in techniques including lymphatic massage, fibrosis massage, scar tissue management, and more.
Expanding Educational Horizons
Looking to the future, Nicole is expanding the number of courses and cities where they are offered.
